Back-to-back schedules. AHH! My hand are all tied up!
This morning, i watched a mother teach her daughter.
But what i'd like to comment on is that i believe correct terms should be used when conversating with the daughter.
So what if she's small and would not understand the terms?
TEACH HER! Isn't that what you're doing? Teaching?
Children should know the difference between "
similarity" and "
same".
Excuses like "she's too young, she won't know what they are" is totally inexcusable!
There are no age limits to education.
You do not specifically believe that children only starts learning Science at the age of nine; or rather at primary three.
That's just a rough education guideline used in Singapore.
If a child is taught Science at a younger age, it is totally acceptable.
If a child were to ask a mother a question out of curiosity, and it is in relation with Science..
It is the mother's duty as a preacher, to address the child's question clearly and not leave him with doubts
OR tell him "You are too young to understand this yet. You'll learn about it later as you get older."
Teaching starts from young, by the parents. If parents are not able to
TEACH the child
PROPERLY, then in my opinion, the parents are not effective.
